Non-surgical cosmetic procedures are medical procedures and carry risks and possible side effects. Cosmetic injectables are prescription-only medicines and can only be prescribed by a registered medical practitioner after an individual consultation. Individual results and suitability vary. Morisset Doctors does not offer discounts, packages or inducements for cosmetic treatments, and a cooling-off period applies before treatment. Treatments are private billed.

Your consultation journey

What to expect from your first enquiry to your review. Tap each step.

  1. Book a cosmetic consultation with Dr Alice Najjar. A consultation fee applies and is confirmed when you book.

  2. Dr Najjar asks about your goals, health history, medicines, allergies and previous treatments, and examines the area of concern.

  3. You will hear what may and may not be achievable, the options including no treatment, the risks, likely recovery and the full cost in writing.

  4. There is no pressure to decide on the day. Take time to think, read the written information and ask any further questions.

  5. If you choose to go ahead and treatment is appropriate, it is carried out by Dr Najjar in a clinical setting, with consent recorded.

  6. You receive written aftercare instructions and a contact number, and a review is arranged so Dr Najjar can check how you are going.

Before you decide

Questions to ask any practitioner

Whoever you see for cosmetic treatment, these questions help you make an informed choice.

01Who will treat me?

Ask about the practitioner's registration, qualifications and experience. You can check registration on the AHPRA website.

02What exactly is being used?

Ask what treatment is recommended, why, and how it is supplied and stored.

03What are the risks?

Ask about common side effects and rare complications, and what happens if something goes wrong.

04What will it cost?

Ask for the total cost in writing, including consultation, treatment and any follow-up.

05What is the aftercare?

Ask what to expect in the days afterwards, what to avoid, and who to contact.

06What are the alternatives?

Ask about other options, including no treatment.

Risks and recovery

All cosmetic procedures carry risks. Dr Najjar will explain the risks for your treatment, and you will receive written information and aftercare instructions.

Costs

Cosmetic consultations and treatments are private billed and are not covered by Medicare. You will receive the full cost in writing before any treatment.

Common and usually short-lived

Redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising, mild headache or small lumps at injection sites, usually settling within days.

Less common

Uneven results, lumps that persist, infection, a temporary droop of an eyelid or brow, or results that do not meet expectations.

Rare but serious

Allergic reactions, blocked blood vessels causing skin damage, and very rarely effects on vision. These need urgent assessment, and the clinic has protocols to respond.

When to seek help

Contact the clinic straight away about increasing pain, skin colour changes, blistering, vision changes or signs of infection. In an emergency, call 000.
