What a certificate can say
A medical certificate states that you were assessed and, in the doctor's opinion, were or will be unfit for work or study for a period.
Your GP can only certify what they can reasonably assess.
Certificates for work, study or carer's leave are provided following a consultation, in person or, where suitable, by telehealth. Your GP certifies what they assess, so book when you are unwell.

GP consultations are bulk billed for eligible patients with a valid Medicare card: children 15 and under, patients 65 and over with a pension or Health Care Card, and all other pension and Health Care Card holders.
Certificates are based on your consultation.
